Shanina Shaik was a runner up on the reality TV series Make Me a Supermodel. While on the show, she met US model/actor Tyson Beckford, who featured as one of the judges and whom she is currently dating.
“I’m not sure if my look is an advantage or not, it’s quite exotic,” she says.
She became the fifth Australian model to walk for Victoria’s Secret, joining Miranda Kerr, Abbey Lee Kershaw, Jess Hart and Elyse Taylor.
Opting to go international first, she made her debut on the catwalk at the ready-to-wear shows in autumn/winter 2009,
walking for labels such as Mara Hoffman, Trovata and Shipley & Halmos in New York.
