Yomi Abiola is a graduate of both Columbia School of Journalism (New York) and Sciences-Po Paris, France.

Super model Yomi Abiola was the first African face of Maybelline and has graced the pages of magazines like Elle and Vogue Italy. But she soon became aware of the lack of diversity and inclusion in the fashion industry. Today she runs the initiative for social change – Stand Up For Fashion.
Yomi Abiola started modelling as a way to get acceptance and validation. But in the fashion industry, being a black model proved to be a tough endeavor. After being rejected, stereotyped and caricatured several times just based on the color of her skin, she knew it was time to elevate herself. In this touching talk, Yomi tells us about her experiences as a model and why she started a platform that strives for social responsibility and inclusion in the world of fashion.
